For first timers, finding out that you are pregnant will cause you happiness, fear, nervousness and all other emotions since you don’t have any idea how your body would react to the changes that might occur. Don’t worry because is normal to feel that way. And to help you give an outlook as to what could happen to you physically, emotionally and mentally, here is a list of what pregnancy could be like and what a pregnant woman would go theough during pregnancy.
Even though it is called morning sickness, this condition occurs anytime of the day, even during night time. This includes dizziness, nausea, vomiting and feeling lightheaded. These changes occurs because of hormonal change and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) which are highly produced during a woman’s first trimester of pregnancy. This explains why most morning sickness disappears or seem to get a little better during second or third trimester.
•Sensitivity of Sense of Smell and Taste
These senses change a lot. The scents and foods you use to like may smell and taste aweful for you. Extra sensitive senses occurs too, it’s like you could smell the trash even if it’s very far. These changes are caused by hormonal changes as well. It occurs mostly during 1st to 2nd trimester.
•Frequent Urination and Incontinence
Blood flow to a woman’s kidneys increases after her conception of a baby. The blood flow signals the kidneys to produce more urine during pregnancy. That is the reason why we always feel the urge to urinate every now and then when we are pregnant. Sometimes we can’t even hold it.
•Hard Time in Sleeping
During the first trimester, mommies may seem to feel sleepy more frequent than the usual. However, when she reaches 2nd to 3rd trimester, expect that her sleep routine will be messed up. Even if she feels tired all day long, there’s a big possibility that sleep won’t come easily at night.
•Back Pain and Body Pain
This could happen a lot more during 3rd trimester. You may think it is caused by carrying baby’s weight. Could be true, but also, during pregnancy, a hormone called relaxin is produced to soften your legaments in pelvic area so your body could prepare for your delivery. This causes muscles to loose and may cause pain and discomfort in your body especially in lower back.
•Irritability and Mood Swings
All through out your pregnancy, you will experience hormonal change and that causes you to change your emotions swiftly. You could get easily swayed off with your emotions too. Truly, pregnancy ain’t easy.
•Bloating and Gassy Pregnancy
During first trimester, a pregnant woman’s body is very prone to bloating, gassy tummy and sometimes they could feel abdominal pain. These may last all through out pregnancy but some may disappear along their second trimester.
Pregnancy surely isn’t easy. There are a lot of changes, challenges, discomfort and even pain to go through all through out the entire pregnancy journey, not to mention the emotional stress you might get too. Lucky for those mommies who had easy pregnancy. But, easy or not, it is all worth it. Be strong Momma!
