Breastmilk is one of the greatest gift a mom could give to his child, not only that it is much more convenient and inexpensive but it is also superb in providing all the necessary vitamins and nutrients your baby needs especially during his firt six months of life. However, it is normal that mothers sometimes could experience low supply of breastmilk. What are the things we should do in this unfortunate times? How can we make sure to provide the adequate amount of brestmilk our little one is needing? Here are some tips:

•Proper Latching and Positioning

Breastfeeding requires efforts from mothers and babies to make it effecient and successful. Making sure that your baby is properly latched and he is comfortable with the position while feeding is one key to make it successful. If the baby is properly getting enough amount of milk, it signals the body to produce some more.

•Avoid Using Pacifier and Bottles if Possible

Latching should only be done in mommy’s breast. The lesser time your little one spends on your boobie, the lesser the amount of milk your body comes up with. Everything is under the cycle of supply and demand.

•Unlimited Latching and Feeding

When you are aiming to produce more milk, do not follow any feeding schedule. As long as your baby wants your breast, offer it. Don’t worry because too much breastmilk won’t harm your baby’s tummy.

•Try Taking Lactation Supplements

Lactation Supplements are supplements that helps your body to produce some milk. You can ask your doctor for recommendations as to what are the best brands. Though it is helpful to take this, do not just depend on it. Do your best to increase your milk in a natural way first before jumping off to taking lactation supplements.

•Take Good Care of Yourself

Your baby is depending on a food which is produced on your body. It is only right that you do your best in taking care of it. Not only physically but also emptionally and mentally. Stress and anxiety may affect your capability to produce milk.

If you are a mom who is very much dedicated to pursue your breastfeeding journey, have enough rest and sleep, eat plenty of vegetables and fruits so that the quality of milk you produce would be very good. Lastly, nothing is going to be easy all through out, there would be times that you will encounter problems that would make you wanna consider discontinuing your breastfeeding journey, but don’t let that eat up your goal to give only what is best for you and your baby.
