Parents are left in wonder why little ones often throw a fuss and cry whenever they feel the urge to sleep. Well, not really all the time, but there are really times that before they fall asleep, they would cry. Up until this time, there is still no scientific reason why children tends to cry when they are sleepy, however, studies were able to identify certain factors that may have contributed to these behavior. In this artice, let me discuss further these factors and how they can make us understand what our baby wants or needs.

Understanding Why Babies Cry

From the moment they made their grand entance into our world, babies don’t have proper way to communicate and directly tell his parents what he wants or needs other than to cry it our loud. Crying is never a perfect way to communicate too, that is why it is important for parents to understand the reason why our babies cry. It could be that he is hungry, having a gassy tummy, uncomfortable in his bed, itching, in pain or maybe just sleepy.

Factors Why Babies Cry When Sleepy

•Transition of Behavior from being widely awake to being sleepy.

Crying could be the baby’s means to pour out his emotion when he don’t quite understand why he suddenly feels the urge to rest and sleep when awhile ago he was so lively and awake.

•Too tired to go to sleep.

Study shows that those babies who had been awake for quite some time, have played for a little more, have been active before they felt sleepy, they arethe ones who would most likely cry and give a fuss before sleeping.

•Fighting not to sleep. It could also be that babies are trying to fight against sleep. They could have been enjoying their waking times and crying because they don’t want to end it to sleep.

I know, listening to your baby cry could be very frustrating as parents. However, there is also a method on how to get your baby sleep faster through “crying to sleep”. After crying for some time, your baby will feel more soothed and ready for sleep. He will be able to sleep more soundly too. This method has been proven and tested to me through my sons.

Also, before anything else, try to check too if your baby has been feeling unwell to make sure that his crying is merely because he is sleepy and not because of anything more serious.
